Zenshu episode 1 recap
Zenshu episode 1, First Stroke, started off with Natsuko Hirose, an animation director considered a genius by many, narrating how she rose to fame after her first anime, Sukeban Magical Girl Dark Academy, became a massive hit. Currently, she is working on her first romantic comedy series, Hatsukoi: First Love, a project highly anticipated by many.
However, given that she has never been in love, Natsuko finds it difficult to understand the concept of first love and as a result, she struggles to create the storyboard. The production of the series had already been delayed several times, putting all the more pressure on her.
In a surprising turn of events, Natsuko ended up dying within the first 5 minutes of the episode, presumably due to food poisoning. This resulted in her being isekai'd (transported/reincarnated) into the fantasy world of A Tale of Perishing, an anime series special to Natsuko despite it being considered a flop by the industry for being too depressing.
After landing in the new world of A Tale of Perishing, Natsuko was initially bewildered upon witnessing the fantastical creatures and was almost killed by one of them. However, she ended up being saved by Luke Braveheart, a renowned hero of this world and his group.
Knowing that Luke and the members of his group meet a terrible fate in the original story of A Tale of Perishing anime, Natsuko tries to warn them of the coming danger, which ends up being in vain. That said, when a fated battle from the original story starts to unfold towards the end of the episode, Natsuko manages to unlock a mysterious power within her, which allows her to make her creations come to life.
This power helps her prevent Luke's trusted friend, Unio, from meeting his fated end in battle, and wipe out the entire army of enemies with a single attack. As Luke and his friends stare at Natsuko in amazement, the latter ends up fainting due to hunger. With this, the climactic first episode of the Zenshu anime came to an end.
What to expect from Zenshu episode 2
Following the events of episode 1, fans can expect Zenshu episode 2 to continue Natsuko Hirose's misadventures in the fantastical world of A Tale of Perishing, where she would now be able to change the course of the story with her newfound power.
