One Piece chapter 1127 is set to be released on September 23, 2024, but the raw scans for the chapter have already been released. The chapter started with the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates on the Island of Dreams with a mini adventure of the missing Straw Hats stranded inside a LEGO castle. However, the fandom took this opportunity to relight the fire of competition between Zoro and Sanji.

Where these two have been competing in every area, be it fighting or anything else, the fandom brought into discussion another area which was their new attire for the Elbaf arc. Where Sanji's attire looked pretty decent, Zoro's was questionable only due to the big goggles he was wearing, which the fandom debated over.

One Piece chapter 1127 showcased the monster trio making a surprise entry after they saved Nami from a giant lion through a combined attack. While this attack revealed the teamwork of the trio, it also revealed the new outfits of Zoro and Sanji which they would be wearing in the Elbaf arc.

Both of their attires weren't that different, as they were both wearing Viking costumes, however, what differentiated them were the extra accessories the author gave them in addition to their costumes. While Sanji was wearing a muffler-like cloth around his neck as an addition, Zoro was wearing big goggles that almost covered half of his face.

This became the spotlight for the fandom and they trolled the swordsman for having an outfit that looked 'goofy' as compared to Sanji. However, the Zoro fandom also tried their best to defend their character.

As expected, the Sanji fandom took the chance and trolled Zoro for his questionable choice of attire, more specifically his goggles that were similar to his Skypiea arc look. While one part of the fandom criticized the goggles, one part criticized his shoulder pads that made him look like a Beast Pirate because the pirate crew's attire was very similar.

On the other hand, a fan defended Zoro by highlighting his sleek outfit even though the addition of the goggles did make them worse. However, even though the Sanji fandom should have been happy, one fan said that it would be better if Toei Animation, the animation studio of the anime, didn't see Sanji looking cool, bringing back the allegations regarding the character and the animation studio.

"While sanji looks f*cking cold, i can’t sit here and pretends Zoro don’t got that sh*t on" a fan said

"Shoulder pads are worse than the googles 100%. He looks like a beast pirate with those on" another one claimed

"Nah the googles might be a lil goofy but you gotta admit his fit is cold af" another fan said

"Sanji looking cold?? Do NOT let Toei see this" another fan claimed

Final thoughts

Although Zoro's goggles were an 'interesting' addition to his attire, it was good to see how the fandom has kept such a joke running since the early days of One Piece. The joke continued from the manga to the anime and even to the live-action series where the live-action actors of Roronoa Zoro and Vinsmoke Sanji funnily decided which one of them was the strongest.
