Bomayla bombs into round of 32

Bombayla Devi Laishram, a product of the Tata Archery Academy, Jamshedpur defeated Evangelia Psarra in the 1/64 Eliminations today at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The 27 year old archer from Imphal, lost the first set to Psarra by two points. But she came back strongly by taking four points from the next two sets. She hit two perfect 10s in the third set.

Laishram survived a scare in the fourth set after her first shot went wide of the mark . Despite the scoring just four from her first shot, she came back in the match to draw the set.

She was leading 5-3 before the start of the fifth set.

Psarra started the round and Liashram hit a perfect ten to put the pressure on the Greece archer.

The fifth set ended in a draw and Psarra ran out of arrows from her quiver. Liashram moves into the round of 32 and she will be facing Aidaroman of Mexico.
