There was further joy for India at the Archery World Cup final in Mexico City as Deepika Kumari clinched the silver medal in the Individual event on Sunday. This was the archer’s fourth medal at a World Cup
The Indian was up against South Korea’s Chou Misun and lost the finale 2-6. The Ranchi-born archer had to her credit 3 World Cup silver medals, prior to this, and one bronze medal, which she won in May 2015 at Antalya, Turkey and one Commonwealth Games gold medal, which she won in 2010 in Delhi.

She has also had a successful career in the team events, being part of 2 silver-winning World Championships campaigns in 2011 and 2015 and also featuring in the Recurve teams that won the gold and the bronze medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, respectively.
This is now India’s second medal at the Archery World Cup final after Abhishek Verma created history by becoming the first Indian archer to stand on the podium at the ongoing event.
