Indian archers endured a good outing at the second World Cup held at Medellin, Columbia as they claimed two medals at the event.
On Monday, the recurve B team bagged a silver medal after loosing a shoot-off to Korea while the mixed team of A ensured a bronze after defeating the Mexican pairing.
Atanu Das, Thupuvoyi and Sanjay Boro, a literal ‘B team’ in the men’s recurve, performed brilliantly as they came back from going 0-4 behind to the Koreans in the final match to complete a great comeback to level the scores and force a shoot-off.
In a close shoot-off, the Koreans were on the mark with every arrow as they shot a perfect 30 and the Indian team fell agonizingly short by 2 points as they registered 28 to settle for the silver.
The bronze was won by the pairing of Laishram Bombayla Devi and Atanu Das in the mixed team category. The medallists were congratulated by Archery Association of India (AAI) president Vijay Kumar Malhotra.
