The inaugural edition of the Asian Youth Archery Championships is set to take place in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, from September 27 to October 3, 2024. This highly anticipated event will see young archers from across Asia competing in two age categories (U18 and U21) and two disciplines (compound and recurve).
After hosting major events like the 2017 Universiade, Taipei City is ready to welcome another international tournament.
The Indian archery team will be sending a strong 32-member squad to compete in this age-group event. Among them, the spotlight will be on Aditi Gopichand Swami, the current world champion in the women’s compound individual category, as she aims to continue her medal-winning streak.
Other notable names from the Indian contingent include Kushal Dayal (Men’s U21 Compound), Avneet Kaur (Women’s U21 Compound), and Tisha Punia (Women’s U21 Recurve), each bringing valuable international experience to the competition.
The Asian Youth Archery Championships will kick off with the ranking rounds for both U21 and U18 categories on September 28, followed by individual events on September 29. Team events will take place on September 30, and the mixed team competitions are scheduled for October 1. The finals for the compound category will be held on October 2, while the recurve finals are set for October 3.
