The India women's compound team, comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Parneet Kaur, and Aditi Gopichand Swami, beat Turkey in the semi-finals of the Archery World Cup Stage 3 on Wednesday (June 19). The Indian trio put up a brilliant display against Turkey to beat them 234-227 in the semi-final.

Come June 22, the India Women's compound team is set to take on Estonia in the final for the gold medal match.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) also gave an update about the same, taking to their official social media handle (on X).

"Update: #Archery World Cup Stage 3 Turkey. The India women's compound team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Parneet Kaur and Aditi Gopichand Swami, have advanced to the final after defeating hosts Turkey 234-227. India women's compound team eyes hat-trick of gold medals

The India women's compound team had previously won successive gold medals in Shanghai and Yecheon World Cups in April and May this year.

The World No. 1 Indian women's compound team has now eliminated hosts Turkey in a rather one-sided semi-final at the Archery World Cup Stage 3. They qualified as top seed, and therefore, got a bye into the quarter-finals where they defeated El Salvador 235-227.

Having set up a final clash against Estonia, the India women's compound team will now aim to make it a hat-trick of gold medals.

Meanwhile, there was disappointment elsewhere for India. The Indian men's recurve archery team, earlier on Saturday, failed to secure a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics for the country from the Final World Quota Tournament.

The Indian team of Tarundeep Rai, Dhiraj Bommadevera and Pravin Jadhav faced a defeat against Mexico in the quarter-finals. The top three teams gained Paris 2024 Olympic quotas in the men's recurve team event.

Moreover, the Indian women's recurve team, comprising Deepika Kumari, Bhajan Kaur and Ankita Bhakat also slumped to a defeat at the hands of Ukraine. The Ukrainian team, comprising Veronika Marchenko, Anastasia Pavlova and Olha Chebotarenko beat India in the Round of 16 on Friday.

The Indian women's recurve team had a bright start as they were dominant in the first four sets, gaining a 3-1 lead as well. However, Ukraine staged a strong comeback in the next set and went on to win it 5-3.
