Rajat Chauhan was impressive in the semifinals as he edged Columbia’s Camilo Andres Cardona 143-138.
Chauhan, seeded 30 at the Championships started off in fine style and held his advantage leaving Cardona very little chance to make a comeback. The Columbian who is seeded 10th got five scores of 10 . Chauhan on the other hand registered nine scores of 10.

Chauhan had earlier upset sixth seed Kevin Tataryn 146-143 in the quarterfinal. The Indian will go for gold against Denmark’s Stephan Hansen on Saturday.
Mangal Singh Champia reached the last 16 in the men’s recurve event after his 6-4 win over Spain’s Miguel Alvarino Garcia. With this win, Champia has now qualified for the Rio Olympics.
