Andrew Evans is a professional American discus thrower. Before he became a professional track and field athlete, Evans also competed in team sports such as ice hockey and American football during his high school career. He has been representing the USA on an international level for the last decade. Evans rose to prominence after competing at the 2010 World Junior Championships and then winning a silver medal at the 2015 NACAC Championships.

Besides that, he finished third in the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships and has also represented the country twice at the World Athletic Championships. In 2016, Evans qualified to represent the USA at the Summer Olympics but could not secure a medal. Eight years later, Evans punched his ticket again to the Olympics in Men’s Discus Throw, alongside Sam Mattis and Joseph Brown and will be eyeing to win a medal at the Paris Olympics.

Andrew Evans was born and brought up in Portage, Michigan, USA. He attended the Portage Northern High School and competed in various sports such as Ice Hockey, American Football, and Discus Throw. In 2007, he finished as the runner-up in the Michigan Discus Throw competition before winning it twice in 2008 and 2009. Evans also competed Shot Put at the state level representing his high school.

After completing his high school at Portage Northern High School, he attended the Kalamazoo Valley Community College for his graduation in Michigan. However, he only spent a brief time there before deciding to move on from Michigan. Evans completed his graduation at the University of Kentucky. There, he was a member of the Kentucky Wildcats sports team. During his college time, he emerged victorious at the Southeastern Outdoor Championships twice and won a bronze at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
