The sports biopic based on India’s ‘Flying Sikh’ Milkha Singh, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, picked up 3 awards at the annual Filmfare awards on Friday night.
The movie fetched Farhan Akhtar (who played Milkha Singh) the Best Actor award and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra got the Best Director award. The movie also bagged the Best Film award.
The movie generated much fanfare last year and brought to light some of the achievements of one of India’s most accomplished athletes of the time.
It received critical acclaim for the attempt as well as Farhan Akhtar’s portrayal of the lead protagonist.
The awards ceremony was aired on Sony Entertainment Television on Sunday.
