Conner Mantz, born December 8th, 1996, in Logan, Utah, is an American long-distance athlete with a focus on the rugged marathon. Presently, he is coached by Ed Eyestone and is sponsored by Nike.

By the young age of 12, Mantz had already completed his first marathon and was motivated to pursue running even further than before. Muntz’s talent and dedication were evident just two years later when he completed another half marathon in an impressive time of 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 24 seconds. This translates to an exceptional pace of 5:26.8 per mile, stamping his potential as a runner to watch.

Going further, Mantz's exceptional abilities were recognized on the global stage when he represented the United States in the junior race at the 2015 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China. Despite being among the youngest competitors, he finished an impressive 29th over the 8 km distance, leading Team USA to a respectable sixth-place finish overall. Notably, Mantz will be making his Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics later this year.

Conner Mantz’s College

After graduating high school, Mantz took his talents and unwavering focus to Brigham Young University (BYU). There, he achieved incredible things, as he won back-to-back NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in 2020 and 2021

twice in 2020 and 2021. Moreover, with these triumphs, Mantz conquered the pinnacle of collegiate athletics. Moreover, during the 2020 triumph, he became the first American to win the event since Galen Rupp in 2008.

Furthermore, he also broke the BYU school record for the indoor 5,000m event and finished as a runner up at the 10,000 meters event at the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Mantz soon turned professional and started by competing at national championships.
