Daniel Haugh's Family

Daniel Haugh is an American hammer thrower who qualified for his second successive Olympics in Paris this year. He started playing football at an early age but transitioned to track and field after sustaining a sever concussion. Haugh attended the St. Pius X School where he developed into one of the nation’s top high school throwers. He was the 2013 Georgia State champion in the hammer, discus and weight throw and led his school to the Georgia Class 3A Outdoor Championships that same year. Following his successful prep career, Haugh attended the Kennesaw State University.

Haugh enjoyed a successful spell at Kennesaw State for the next few seasons. In 2019, he competed in the men's hammer throw event at the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships and won his first gold medal for the program. Haugh also qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the men’s hammer throw and finished in the 11th position.

Haugh now trains at Kennesaw State University with Isaiah Rogers. In the U.S. track and field trials in Eugene, Haugh secured first place in the hammer throw with his throw of 79.51 meters and qualified for Paris 2024.
