The hammer throw world champion, DeAnna Price, was born on June 8, 1993. She became the first American woman to win a medal in a women's throws event at the World Championship, which was a gold at the 2019 Doha. Her coach is her husband, J.C. Lambert.
Price qualified for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro and 2020 Tokyo Olympics and marked 70.95 meters and 73.09 meters, respectively, finishing in eighth place at both. At the US Olympic trials in 2021, Price set the American record with a personal best in the hammer of 80.31 meters, more than 260 feet, becoming the second best female thrower in history.

Lambert received a promotion to assistant and throwing coach in 2015. He oversaw the throwers' weight room and was in charge of the throwing tournaments. Assistance with equipment and appeals, as well as home meet management for the throwers, were among his skills. However, he transferred to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as an assistant coach in 2022.
