Fiona O'Keeffe was born on May 24, 1998. O'Keeffe recently made headlines by winning the 2024 United States Olympic Marathon Trials held in Orlando, Florida, on her marathon debut and secured her 2024 Paris Summer Olympics spot.
Fiona O'Keeffe attended Davis High School in her hometown of Davis, California. O'Keeffe won the Gatorade California Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2014. O'Keeffe in 2016 was a two-time state cross-country champion and won the CIF California State Meet title in the 3200 meters. She also won the 2016 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships by running 15:56.84 for 5000 meters becoming the 6th fastest US high school performer.
After graduating High School, O'Keeffe joined the University of Stanford in 2016 and became part of the Stanford Cardinal Track and Field program. During her college years at Stanford, O'Keeffe won the 2019 Pac-12 Conference cross-country championship title and landed eight NCAA Division 1 All-American Championship awards by placing herself 3rd in the 500 meters at the 2019 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Track and Field Championship.
After graduating from college, Fiona decided to turn into a professional in 2021 and signed with Puma. In the same year, O'Keeffe competed in the 10,000m at the Eugene US Olympic Trials and finished 20th. O'Keeffe made the record of the fastest debut half marathon for an American woman by finishing fourth at the Houston half Marathon in 2022.
In the same year, she placed sixth in the USA Track and Field Championship and finished 3rd at the NACAC Championship in Bahamas. She represented the United States and finished sixth in 5 Kilo-meter at the 2023 World Road Running Championship and with a 1:09:34 at the 2023 Raleigh Half Marathon.
