Kingston, Oct 18 (IANS/CMC) Double Olympic sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has signed a new four-year contract with leading Jamaican food manufacturing firm Grace Kennedy.
The deal will allow Fraser-Pryce, also a triple world champion, to continue serving as brand ambassador for the Kingston-based company.
Grace Kennedy is a major supporter of Fraser-Pryce’s Pocket Rocket Foundation which provides academic scholarships to student-athletes.
“Today we will be signing on with Shelly-Ann for another four years as our Brand Ambassador,” said Don Wehby, GraceKennedy Group CEO Thursday.
“You are our Brand Ambassador for life and we appreciate what you have done for Jamaica.”
So far, Grace Kennedy has raised $686,157 for the foundation and plans to reach its target of $1 million by December.
Since June, the company has been donating 10 cents from the sale of each can of Grace Vienna sausage towards the Foundation.
“This is a very worthy cause,” declared Michael Ranglin, CEO, of Grace Kennedy Foods.
“We are happy to help you make the difference, one person at a time.”
