At the Millrose Games in February 2024, Fisher set an American record in the indoor 2-mile with a time of 8:03.62. His time beat the previous best of 8:07.41 established by Galen Rupp, and he came in second to the world record-setting Scotsman Josh Kerr. Fisher qualified for his second Olympics after decisively winning the 10,000 meters in the 2024 Olympic trials in a time of 27:49.47 - his first 10,000-meter national title.

At the trials, Fisher ran a 13:08.85 to win the 5000 meters, slightly ahead of Abdihamid Nur's 13:09.01. Fisher was the first man to win both races in the trials since Rupp in 2012, and he was also the first to win the 10000 and 5000 meters at the same U.S. track championship.
