Andrew Hunter of USA led the initial 400m of the race, after which Elijah Manangoi took control of the race and stayed composed throughout the end to claim Gold.

Chebet of Kenya won a closely fought race as she raced away in the last 50metres to take the Gold ahead of Houlihan and Arafi. Chitra of India put in a creditable performance to be placed 4th.

800 Metres Men
Kramer of Sweden who led the initial 400m had to settle for the 4th place as Korir asserted his supremacy by taking Gold. Murphy took the Silver as he was three-thousandths of a second faster than Amos of Botswana.

800 Metres Women
Semenya asserted her class to win the Gold in the Women's 800m 3 seconds ahead of her nearest rival. Africa failed with their joker as their second runner Besu Sado finished in 7th place.

Haroun Hassan of Qatar ran a calculated race, along with a spirited finish from Muhammed Anas, helped Asia-Pacific to collect maximum points as they played their joker. Thapelo of South Africa had to pull up midway due to injury and was disqualified for a lane infringement.

20-year-old Salwa Eid Naser continued to impress everyone with yet another dominating display to claim Gold in the Women's 400m. Semenya broke the South African National record claiming Silver.
