200 Metres Men

Guliyev of Turkey who leads the race from the start was beaten to the finish line in the last 30 meters by Edward of Panama to lose the Gold.

Alonso Edward of Panama won the 200m Men's Gold

Gold - Alonso Edward (Americas - PAN) 20.19, Silver - Ramil Guliyev (Europe - TUR) 20.28, Bronze - Alex Quinonez (Americas - ECU) 20.36.

200 Metres Women

The reigning Olympic Champion in the 400m, Shaunae Miller decided not to compete in the event and yet went home winning 3 Golds. Along with the individual 200m, she took two more Golds in the 4x100m women's relay and the 4x400m Mixed Relay. America played their joker and collected valuable points.

Gold - Shaunae Miller-Uibo (Americas - BAH) 22.16, Silver - Dafne Schippers (Europe - NED) 22.28, Bronze - Marie-Josée Ta Lou (Africa - CIV) 22.61.

100 Metres Men

Su Bingtian of China was looking to add the Continental Cup title along with his Asian Games Gold which he claimed 2 weeks back. Su leads the field in the first 40 meters after which Lyles of the US started to gain momentum and won the race in the last 5 strides in a close finish. Yohan Blake pulled up 70 meters into the race to finish last.

Noah Lyles of USA won Gold in 100m Men

Gold - Noah Lyles (Americas - USA) 10.01, Silver - Su Bingtian (Asia-Pacific - CHN) 10.03, Bronze - Akani Simbine (Africa - CIV) 10.11.

100 Metres Women

Marie Josee of Ivory Coast became the first Gold medalist from Africa at the Continental Cup since its inception in 1977.

Gold - Marie-Josée Ta Lou (Africa - CIV) 11.14, Silver - Dina Asher-Smith (Europe - GBR) 11.16, Bronze - Jenna Prandini (Americas - USA) 11.21.

4x100 Metres Relay Men

Americas proved tough to dislodge with their sleek baton exchanges to power their way to the Gold. Henricho Bruintjies of Africa crashed out moments before the baton exchange due to injury resulting in disqualification of the African team.

4x100 Metres Relay Women

Shaunae Miller was particularly impressive as she widened the lead before the second exchange as Rosa finished to give victory to the Americas. Disaster struck the African team as Marie Josee dropped the baton after a clear exchange resulting in disqualification.

Americas took Gold as Europe was disqualified for dropping the baton in 4x400 Metres Mixed Relay

Europe who were in the lead till 800m where disqualified when Lisanne De Witte of Netherlands dropped the baton when while changing hands resulting in disqualification.
