In some fantastic news coming in for Indian sport, Shot putter Inderjeet Singh has clinched the gold at the Asian Athletics Championships, being played in Wuhan, China after putting forth a throw of 20.41m.

Its been a great last few months for the the 28-year-old athlete , hailing from Haryana, who won Gold at the Federation Cup as well, that were held in Mangalore last month with a throw of 20.65m. That performance had an added siignificance attached to it as it helped him qualify for the Rio Olympics next year, as well.
The Shot Putter clinched the silver medal at the University Championships that were held in Russia in 2013 and also won the bronze at the 2014 Asian Games, that were held in Incheon, South Korea.
