India’s Inderjeet Singh’s fantastic run in 2015 continued as he once again clinched gold in the shot-put final of the first leg of the Asian Grand Prix Games being played in Bangkok. The 26-year-old put forth an effort of 19.83m in the final.
Finishing in second spot was Wang Guangfu of China, who put forth a distance of 18.82m while another Chinese athlete Guo Yanxiang finished third with an effort of 18.79m

This is now Inderjeet’s second gold in June and third in two months. Earlier this month, the Haryana athlete had reached the top of the podium with an effort of 20.41m. Prior to that he had clinched gold at the Federation Cup, which was held in Mangalore in May, with a effort of 20.65m. That performance also helped him qualify for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Inderjeet also won the bronze at the 2014 Asian Games, that were played in Incheon, South Korea.
