After having a disastrous outing in the opening leg of the Asian Grand Prix Games, the Indian men’s and women’s 4 x100m relay team bounced back in excellent fashion to clinch the bronze medal in the second leg of the Asian Grand Prix Games, in Pathumthani, in Thailand.
The team of Jyothisankar Debnath, Krishnakumar Rane, Amiyakumar Malik and Manikandan Arumugam finished the race with a timing of 39.60 seconds to finish third behind Thailand, who finished second with a timing of 39.45 seconds and Hong Kong, who won gold with a timing of 39.45 seconds.
The women’s team, consisting of Himashree Roy, MG Padmini, Srabani Nanda and Gayathri Govindaraj, also finished third with a timing of 45.33 seconds, behind the Thailand team, who won silver and China, who clinched gold.
