Indian women athlete arrested on rape charges

Two years after a car accident ended Pinki Pramanik career, she was arrested on charges of rape today morning.

In a shocking turn of events, the victim, lodged a complaint at the Baguihati police station in North 24-Parganas and alleged that the star athlete is a male.

Pinki Pramanik had so much success on the track before being forced to retire due to permanent injuries from a car accident.

Pramanik specialises in the 400 metres and 800 metres, she had won silver at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, gold at the 2006 Asian Games, and gold at the 2005 Asian Indoor Games along with the national 4×400 metres relay team.
