Melissa Jefferson Family

NCAA Champion Melissa Jefferson is an American sprinter who was born in Georgetown, South Carolina, USA. Her biggest accomplishment of the current season includes winning a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics in 100 m. She secured second position at the 2024 United States Olympics trials. Despite finishing second, she set her personal record of 10.80 seconds for the 100 m event. The 23-year-old competes in the 60 m, 100 m and 200 m categories.

Jefferson's success continued as she won a gold medal in the 4x100 m relay at the 2024 World Relays at Nassau. She also won consecutive gold medals in the 4x100m at the 2023 and 2022 World Championships in Budapest and Eugene, respectively. Her personal best record in the 60 m category was 7.09 m. Competing for Coastal Carolina University, Jefferson won the 2022 NCAA Indoor 60 m Championship.

Jefferson's other wins include winning the 2022 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 100 m. With the win, she qualified for the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene.
