Monae Nichols, born on November 24, 1998, is an American long-jumper, who will be competing in her first Olympics event in Paris this year. Nichols burst onto the track scene as one of the top hurdlers in Florida during her time at Auburndale High School. She started her collegiate journey with Bethune-Cookman University but transferred to Texas Tech following the COVID-19-hit season. Only with the Red Raiders, Nichols started specializing in the long jump category.

Nichols concluded her collegiate career with a second position in the Big 12 indoor season and broke the program’s long jump record with a jump of 6.80m. She was also placed first in the Big 12 Championships with a PB mark of 6.97m. In March 2024, Nichols won a silver medal at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, which subsequently earned her a spot in the Olympics 2024. Last month, Nichols competed in the Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, and finished third with a season-best jump of 6.86m and achieved her dream of competing in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
