Armand Gustav "Mondo" Duplantis, popularly known by his nickname Mondo Duplantis, is a professional Swedish-American pole vaulter. At the age of three, Duplantis took his first steps into pole vaulting. By the age of seven, he began setting world records while competing at an elite level. He participated as a Swedish at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Cali, Colombia, where he achieved his first global success by winning a gold medal. The following year, he claimed a bronze medal at the 2016 World U20 Championships in Athletics in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He represented the United States multiple times from July 1981 to April 1996. On July 1, 1993, he achieved his personal best of 5.80 meters (19 feet 1/2 inch) during an event in Århus, Denmark. After his retirement, Greg committed to the sport as a coach by mentoring numerous NCAA All-American pole vaulters, including his son, Mondo Duplantis. In addition to his athletic career, he has also served as an oil and gas attorney.

Helena Duplantis is the mother of Mondo Duplantis. Helena, born on March 27, 1965, in the small town of Avesta, Sweden, is a former heptathlete and volleyball player. She was trained by her father, Lars-Ake, a former national-level pole vaulter, who led the local athletics club in developing new international athletes. After training with her father, Helena competed internationally for Sweden at the age of 18 and achieved a personal best of 11.91 meters in the triple jump.
