India’s MR Poovamma won the bronze in the women’s 400m category at the second leg of the Asian Grand Prix Games, being played in Pathumthani in Thailand on Thursday.The 25-year-old finished with a timing of 52.72 seconds.
Nguyen Thi Huyen of Vietnam won the gold with a timing of 52.27 seconds while Rakhmanova of Kazakhstan won the silver medal with a time of 52.69 seconds.
This is Poovamma’s second’s successive bronze medal at this event. She had finished third in the first leg of the competition as well with a timing of 53.51 seconds. This is also her third medal of the month, after her silver medal win at the Asian Athletics Championships, at the start of June in Wuhan,China.
