Rai Benjamin Family

Rai Benjamin is a professional American Track and Field athlete. He is a sprinter and hurdler and is best known for his performances in the 400-meter categories of both sports. With a personal best timing of 46.17 seconds in the 400-meter hurdle category, Benjamin holds the second-best timing in the category in history. Interestingly, he ended up second in the competition, where he set this record because the number one record was set during that same event.

Benjamin has won two medals at the Olympic games - a gold, and a silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He has qualified for the 400-meter hurdle category at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Besides, Benjamin has also won five medals at the World Athletic Championships including two gold, and won the Diamond League in 2023.

Rai Benjamin’s family is originally from Antigua and Barbuda. It is a sovereign country in the Caribbean. Both of his parents belong to the country. They moved to the USA where Benjamin was born in Mount Vernon, New York, on July 27, 1997. He has also represented Antigua once at the World Youth Championships.

Jeanette Mason and Winston Keithroy Benjamin are the parents of Rai Benjamin. While not many details are known about his mother, his father Winston Benjamin was a professional cricketer for the West Indies Cricket Team. He was born on December 31, 1964, and played a total of 21 International Test matches and 85 One-Day Internationals. He reportedly works as a coach at the Clare Hall Secondary School.
