Moscow, Aug 29 (IANS): Russian indoor shot put champion of the 2011 European championship Anna Ardayeva has been disqualified for two years for doping, the All-Russia Athletic Federation said.

According to the Federation’s website Wednesday, the 28-year-old Ardayeva was tested positive on the anabolic steroid which is a banned substance for professional athletes, reports Xinhua.

Ardayeva’s use of oral turinabol was detected July 30 during routine training near Moscow. Oral turinabol was invented in the erstwhile East Germany for its athletes.

She has been suspended from participation in the competitions until August 2015. Thus, the Russian will miss World Indoor Championships in 2014 in Poland and World Athletics Championships in 2015 in Beijing.

In 2010, Ardayeva won bronze at the Barcelona‘s European Championships. She has become the 25th Russian athlete who failed doping tests this year.
