Born on March 20, 1995, in Louisville, Kentucky, Shamier Little's love for athletics began from a young age. Her father, Sean Little, was a cornerback for Eastern Kentucky University, while her mother, Tiffany Mayfield, played basketball and high jump. Little began participating in youth track and field at the age of eight, working on her skills with the University of Chicago Youth Track Club and later the Country Club Hills Gazelles.
