Sydney Michelle McLaughlin-Lovrone is an American track and field athlete and Olympian, specializing in hurdling and sprint events, who won the gold medal in 400-meter hurdling and 4×400 m relay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone was born on August 7, 1999, in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Willie McLaughlin and Mary McLaughlin.
Sydney grew up in Dunellen, New Jersey. At an early age, she was used to running along with being academically proficient. In 2014, McLaughlin-Levrone placed second at the national junior championships in the 400-meter hurdles. In November 2016, McLaughlin-Levrone enrolled in the University of Kentucky and participated in their collegiate team.
