Tara Davis-Woodhall is an American track and field athlete competing in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She was born on May 20, 1999, as the youngest of five siblings. She set a junior American record for indoor long jump at Agoura High School, leaping an amazing 6.68 meters (21 feet, 3 1/4 inches). She also owns the 100-meter hurdles national high school record.

The long jumper and hurdler, Tara, participated at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well, though she finished in sixth place. She broke the world under-20 record in the 70-meter hurdles while she was a student at the University of Georgia. She has also gained a fan base due to the cowboy hat she wears.

Davis-Woodhall qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics by jumping 7.04 meters at the Olympic Trials in June 2021, securing her spot in the women's long jump event. Despite facing stiff competition, she finished an impressive sixth place in the Olympic final with a best distance of 6.84 meters. Also at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, she won a silver medal for her 6.91-meter mark.

In 2024, Davis-Woodhall won the gold medal in the long jump event at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow with a distance of 7.07 meters. Further, she has also qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics and most recently, she advanced to the final qualifying round in 1st place in the women's long jump qualification round, with a mark of 6.90 meters and a wind assistance of 0.7.
