She went to Agoura High School and started her track and field career there. After that, she went to the University of Georgia and then transferred to the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. In 2021, she set the collegiate record in the long jump by leaping 7.14 meters at the Texas Relays in Austin.

Ty relocated from Texas to Agoura Hills, California during Tara's childhood. Specializing in sprints, triple jump, and long jump, he has trained numerous athletes aged 4 to 18 for state, national, and international competitions.

Rayshon Davis Ayers, mother of track and field star Tara Davis-Woodhall, is a professional education manager at Implant Direct, a dental implant services company. Tara Davis and Paralympics champion Hunter Woodhall got married on October 16, 2022, at D'Vine Grace Vineyard in McKinney, Texas.

Born on February 17, 1999, in Georgia, Hunter Woodhall was diagnosed with fibular hemimelia at birth which led to the amputation of both legs at just 11 months old. Growing up in Syracuse, Utah, he was homeschooled until fifth grade. Hunter switched from artificial legs to carbon fiber blades and joined the track team achieving remarkable success in athletics. He has won three Paralympic medals, a silver in the 200m T44 at Rio 2016, and two bronze medals in the 400m T44 at Rio 2016 and 400m T62 at Tokyo 2020.
