Franklin started her track and field career at Michigan State University where she holds the triple jump record with a leap of 13.41m in outdoor and 13.56m in indoor. Since graduating from Michigan State, Tori has developed into one of the sought-after athletes and is now a professional Nike-sponsored athlete. In 2018, she set the U.S. record with her leading jump of 48ft 8 inches (14.84m) in Guadeloupe, France. She went on to represent the USA in her first Olympics in Tokyo 2021 and finished 25th in the world.

Franklin received his first bronze medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships and it was the United States’ first-ever medal in the triple jump at a World Athletics Championships. She is also the first woman to win a triple jump medal in the World Championship. Franklin tore her plantar fascia but still earned a bronze medal at the U.S. trials this year which was enough to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
