As per Grant Fisher, there were a variety of reasons behind leaving BTC. Firstly, he wanted to do something different from what he had been doing over the past four years, as revealed by him in an interview with Let’s Run. Another major reason why Fisher decided to leave BTC was happiness. Unfortunately, his last year at BTC was interrupted by injuries. His physical fitness affected his performance, which was taking a toll on Fisher’s mental well-being.

Fisher revealed that Eugene, the location of BTC, wasn’t suiting him well and that he decided to move to Park City as he liked the altitude of the city. Bowerman Track Club is a highly popular training group sponsored by Nike. Fisher has revealed that he misses Bowerman and his former colleagues and that he now has to do most of his stuff himself which was sorted at BTC. There, Grant Fisher trained under the tutelage of Jerry Schumacher and then moved to Park City where he started training under Mike Scannell, his former high school coach.

Fisher joined the Bowerman Club in 2019, right after completing his graduation from Stanford University. He left the Club in October 2023 and announced it on his social media handles. Since then, he has qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024. While Fisher failed to win a medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he will be looking to register a podium spot in the two categories he is qualified for - 5000-meter and 10,000-meter.
