Zach Ziemek is an American professional decathlete. Born on February 23, 1993, in Itasca, Illinois, he attended Lake Park High School where he started his career. Later, he attended the University of Wisconsin and saw significant NCAA success, where he won four Big Ten titles and set records in the heptathlon and decathlon.
A five-time All-American, he won the 2016 NCAA Indoor heptathlon with a Big Ten record of 6,173 points and was runner-up in the decathlon. He also competed at the 2015 IAAF World Championships. In 2016, Zach Ziemek finished third in the decathlon at the U.S. Olympic Trials. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in sociology.
