The Canterbury Bulldogs and the Parramatta Eels take to the field on Monday, June 10, for a King's Birthday clash in the NRL Round 14. The Bulldogs will be eyeing a third successive win, while the Eels will look to register their first back-to-back wins of the season.
Last week, the Bulldogs recorded their first away win of the season. Without their Originn stars, they thumped Newcastle Knights 32-2 at the McDonald Jones Stadium.
With their Origin players back in the squad, another top display is expected from Canterbury on Monday. A win will push them into the top, taking their record to four wins in six games. The last time the Bulldogs recorded three consecutive wins was in 2019, and they will be out to match this record.
The Eels, meanwhile, were also victorious in the previous round, taking out Cronulla Sharks by 12 points. This victory ended a five-game losing streak and could be attributed to the return of captain Clint Gutherson and halfback Mitchell Moses.
However, it's difficult to envision Parramatta securing another victory this week, as they come up against a more fortified Canterbury side. Moreover, the Eels have lost all away games, while the Bulldogs are the only team who are undefeated in home games in 2024.
In the opening round of the season, Parramatta beat Canterbury 26-8, but Canterbury's strong home performance makes it unlikely for the Eels to win.
