The South Sydney Rabbitohs will look to maintain their winning streak when they host the Manly Sea Eagles at Accor Stadium on Saturday, June 22, in the NRL Round 16. The Rabbitohs have looked like a different side since coach Ben Hornby's appointment on an interim basis. In the previous round, they defeated Brisbane Broncos by 10 points, extending their winning streak to three games.
This resurgence has seen the Rabbitohs leap from the bottom of the table to 14th position. They will look to continue their surge up the table with a victory over a Manly side who will be slightly undermanned.
The Sea Eagles will be without captain Daly Cherry-Evans, Haumole Olakau'atu, and Jake Trbojevic who will all be on Origin duty. Last week, they returned to winning ways with an impressive 30-14 win over St George Illawarra.
Manly are eighth in the table and would need a win to consolidate their position, with Brisbane, North Queensland, and St George Illawarra sniffing around. When the two sides met in Round 1, the Sea Eagles came out top by 12 points.
However, the Rabbitohs have a superior form and head-to-head record, making them the favorites in this encounter.
