With a record of 9-7 so far in Grapefruit League play, the Houston Astros find themselves in fourth place. The New York Mets, meanwhile, have a record of 8-11 and are just three spots out of the bottom spot.

The two teams will meet at 7:05 pm on March 18 at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in Palm Beach, Florida. The two teams met once before this spring, with the Astros pulling off a 8-4 win on Feb. 28.

2022 Cy Young winner Justin Verlander is a name very familiar to both teams. The 39-year-old posted a league-best ERA of 1.75 with the Houston Astros last year. In December, the two-time World Series champ inked a two-year deal worth $86 million, qualifying him, alongside teammate Max Scherzer, as the highest paid player in MLB history.

SNY, the official broadcast partner of the New York Mets, are showing 14 Mets preseason games on their channel. Unfortunately, for SNY fans, this game will not be shown on the network.

AT&T SportsNet Southwest, the regular channel carrier for the Houston Astros, will not be showing this game across their networks. AT&T has resolved to show 10 Astros preseason games. with their next showing featuring the Astrosplace onaking on March 19 in a World Series rematch against the Philadelphia Phillies.

While the official broadcast partners of the New York Mets and the Houston Astros may have come up short, there is no better news from national broadcasters. ESPN and MLB.TV have both announced that they will not be showing this game.

Hence, the only way that fans can follow the action on March 18 is through the radio. Due to the ongoing World Baseball Classic, both teams have had to contend with incomplete rosters as they push ahead in their preseason campaigns. With Opening Day now less than two weeks away, both teams expect big pushes in 2023.
