Regardless of what else happens, it's safe to say that the 2024 offseason belongs to Juan Soto. The superstar outfielder agreed to a record-setting 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets.

The Mets held a press conference on Thursday to officially introduce Juan Soto. The four-time All-Star will now attempt to deliver another World Series title to Queens, New York.

As part of the introductory presser, the Mets shared a photo of Juan Soto signing his new contract while donning a stunning black jacket with a fur lining. It goes without saying that the photo sent social media into a frenzy.

"This doesn’t feel real" - One fan shared on social media.
"Born to be a New York Met!" - Another fan posted.
"In the fur coat such a power move" - One more fan added.

Although Juan Soto's signing with the Mets is arguably one of the biggest moments in franchise history, fans couldn't help themselves from taking shots at the New York Yankees.

"I never saw him this happy as a Yankee" - One fan shared online.
"Yankee fans punching the air right now" - Another fan posted.
"Welcome to the Rebel Alliance!" - One more fan added.

Now that the record-breaking contract has been made official, it's going to be interesting to see how Soto handles the Yankees fanbase throughout the season.

Mets will need to build roster around Juan Soto if they hope to secure a title

There is no denying Juan Soto is one of the best players in baseball. Having him in the lineup will give the Mets a chance to win every game. That being said, much of the rest of the roster leaves something to be desired.

Aside from Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto, the rest of the lineup is either past their prime years or largely unproven. This should lead to the Mets front office remaining active in the wake of the Soto signing, particularly when it comes to pitching. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the offseason unfolds for the Mets.
