Jose Canseco's daughter hits back at detractors who criticized her privileged lifestyle

Victoria's Secret model Josie Canseco, daughter of renowned MLB star Jose Canseco, launched a scathing attack on her critics who have accused her of living off the wealth and fortune earned by her parents, confessing that her family went 'broke' a long time ago. She said:

“My family is broke and I don't get the advantages of a family that was rich. I’m tired of being categorized when it was very different."

Josie's dad, Jose, was one of the premier power hitters in baseball in the 1990s, and he reportedly earned $40m during his 17-year MLB career. It all came crashing down after his PED admission and a couple of expensive divorces that led to the Cuban star declaring bankruptcy in 2012.

Josie, who's been taunted for using the 'Canseco' tag for the better part of her life, finally hit back at all her detractors through a series of Instagram posts and her other social media pages on Monday, claiming she didn't get the advances of a family that was rich, contrary to popular belief.

“Everyone claiming I came from all this rich money because I'm a 'canseco' do ur research,” she said.

“My 'family money' was blown by the time I was 6/7 w bankruptcy n I had to work my ass off to not only sustain my 'family name' but also pay my bills cause no one paid that s*** except me,” continued Josie.

Life was so tough that she was the only one fending for herself after a point, even going on to claim she was broke and in debt too at one point.

“No child support, no payments, nothing," she added. "And I lived in the model apartments, I was in debt for years and busted my a** getting $100-a-week max, when I started my mom who did her best.

Josie concluded her rant by apologizing to everybody, saying she got triggered. Reports even say she had a minor panic attack and flew back to be with her father.

Who is Josie Canseco?

Josie is the daughter of former MLB journeyman Jose Canseco and Jessica Canseco, a former model who has appeared on several reality TV shows.

She made the limelight in her teens, appearing with her mother on VH1's Hollywood Exes (2012) and starring in Season 2 of the online web series SummerBreak 2 (2014).

She auditioned for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2016 prior to her pictorial with Playboy. Canseco made her Victoria's Secret debut at their Secret Fashion Show in 2018.
