There are a number of ways to get an edge over one's opponents in fantasy baseball leagues. One way to do this is by acquiring buy-low talent and hoping they will bounce back. A well-timed buy-low trade can be the difference between winning and losing a fantasy league.

Given the length of the baseball season, there is seemingly a never-ending supply of buy-low targets for fantasy baseball managers to target. These types of players can be struggling, working their way back from injury or currently sitting on the IL. Today, let's take a closer look at three players to target in leagues.

A closer look at three buy-low candidates in fantasy baseball leagues

Randy Arozarena

It's been a year to forget so far for Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena. The All-Star slugger has struggled at the plate this season, performing well below the expectations that many fantasy baseball managers had for him coming into the year.

That being said, Arozarena has been performing much better at the plate lately, posting a .268 batting average with a pair of home runs and four stolen bases in his last 15 games. While his season-long numbers leave much to be desired, he is an ideal buy-low candidate in fantasy leagues.

Nico Hoerner

There is a chance that you may have missed the buy-low window for Nico Hoerner, as the Chicago Cubs infielder has started turning things around at the plate. Hoerner has been on a tear lately. However, given his early season struggles, his manager could look to offload him. Be sure to check in on Hoerner sooner rather than later as he is starting to deliver at the dish.

Matt Olson

One of the most disappointing fantasy baseball players this season has been Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson. The two-time All-Star has struggled mightily to reproduce his tremendous power-hitting season from last year. In 2023, Olson finished the year with a whopping 54 home runs, yet he only has 13 so far in 2024.

As one of the most prolific home run hitters in baseball, it feels like it is only a matter of time before Olson goes on a tear at the plate. Fantasy managers should look to acquire him at a discounted price before this happens.
