A variety of injury updates from across the MLB arose on Thursday, with a number of them providing positive insight into several sidelined stars. The potentially returning stars could play significant roles for their teams as the postseason approaches.
MLB Injury Updates for July 25
Walker Buehler
The Los Angeles Dodgers have provided a significant injury update surrounding ailing All-Star Walker Buehler. The 29-year-old is slated to join Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday as he continues to work his way back from the IL. The star pitcher has been on the IL since the middle of June after experiencing hip inflammation.
Giancarlo Stanton
The New York Yankees could be getting a major slugger back in their lineup sooner rather than later. Giancarlo Stanton has been continuing to work on the field and according to the latest injury update from Aaron Boone, could return as soon as the team's matchup against the Boston Red Sox this weekend. No decision has yet been made about his activation from the IL.
"I think he's feeling towards the end of it," Boone said, according to Yankees beat writer Gary Phillips.
Josh Jung
Josh Jung's long road to returning to the Texas Rangers lineup is about to take a major step forward as the star third baseman is set to begin a rehab assignment on Friday. Jung has been limited to only four games after fracturing his right wrist as well as having a setback during the recovery process. The Rangers could use Jung in the lineup ASAP as they are clutching to their postseason hopes.
Eduardo Rodriguez
The Arizona Diamondbacks could soon get some major reinforcements to their pitching rotation. Injured star Eduardo Rodriguez continues to progress in his recovery from a shoulder strain. In addition to Rodriguez, fellow starter Merrill Kelly could throw simulated games by the end of the week.
Chris Taylor
The second injury update from the Los Angeles Dodgers is veteran utilityman Chris Taylor, who could be facing a stint on the IL as the result of a groin injury. Taylor is set to undergo an MRI, with manager Dave Roberts indicating that an IL stint could be highly possible. James Outman is expected to take over his spot in the lineup.
