Nathaniel James Snead is a new arrival to the Tennessee Volunteers baseball team. A former pitcher for the Wichita State Shockers, he transferred to his present team for his sophomore 2024 season. He has gained attraction for his pitching skills with achieving 100 mph as a freshman in 2023. His height has also proved favorable for him while pitching during his games. However, he is very successful at striking out opponent batters.
Throughout his freshman season, he 24 games, pitched 42.2 innings and scored 53 strikeouts. As a result, he was made a member of the AAC All-Academic Team in 2023. Snead has also dabbled in amateur baseball prior to starting his college baseball career. He played in the Northwoods League as a member of the Lakeshore Chinooks in 2022.
Nate Snead’s College Career
Nate Snead has been a part of two different colleges in his career so far. He first attended the Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, United States. He represented the Wichita State Shockers in NCAA Division I college baseball program and made his team debut as a freshman in the 2023 season. Snead had an impressive previous season with his former team.
He was notable scoring a season-high of five strikeouts in 2.0 scoreless innings and made his first career save against the Utah Tech Trailblazers on February 25, 2023. He also helped his team to a victory against the Kansas State Wildcats with 2.0 shutouts and making a save on May 2, 2024.
After the season ended, Snead was included in AAC All-Academic Team in 2023. Moreover, he was also included in AD Honor Roll in 2023.
Nate Snead has transferred to the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States for his sophomore season in 2024. He is now playing his trade for the Tennesee Volunteers in NCAA Division I college baseball. He was notable for helping his team to victory with pitching three scoreless innings against the Illinois Fighting Illini on March 10, 2024.

Where did Nate Snead go to School?
Nate Snead attended South Milwaukee High School in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. He played varsity baseball for the South Milwaukee Rockets, his high school team. Nate Snead threw the first perfect game in the history of his school by striking out 14 out of 15 batters. As a junior, he scored 64 strikeouts in 35.1 innings. Moreover, he was regarded as a First Team All-Conference Infielder in 2021. He continued his consistent performance into his senior season as well.
As a result, he became the Conference Player of the Year and was also included as a member of First Team All-Conference in 2022. He also received All-Southeast District Honorable mention and also played in the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Classic. Prep Baseball Report regarded him as the second pitcher and the sixth prospect in Wisconsin. Moreover, Perfect Game also considered him to be the third recruit and second pitcher in Wisconsin. He became a high school graduate in 2022.
Prior to starting his college baseball career, Nate Snead had also played amateur baseball in Northwoods League (NWDS) as a member of the Lakeshore Chinooks. There, he played three games, pitched 5.0 innings and scored three strikeouts. He also had an ERA of 9.00.
