The Baltimore Orioles will be one of the most interesting teams to keep an eye on this offseason. The O's have emerged as one of the most exciting young teams in baseball. However, if they are going to take a major step towards World Series contention in 2025, they will need to answer some roster questions.

The club has an elite core group of players and young prospects that have them set up for a strong future. But there are several moves they could look to make this offseason to push them over the hump.

Here's a look at 5 moves that the Orioles must make this offseason

#1 Re-sign Corbin Burnes

Corbin Burnes is one of the top remaining free agents on the open market and the Orioles should do their utmost to bring him back into the fold. Burnes was one of the top pitchers in baseball again in 2024 after posting a 2.92 ERA.

Replacing that type of production is nearly impossible, so Baltimore needs to try their hardest to bring him back while it still can.

#2 Trade Coby Mayo to round out the roster

Baltimore has some of the most intriguing prospects in baseball and as a result, they have almost too many blocking on another for playing time. Enter Coby Mayo, who could be used as a trade chip this offseason, particularly if it misses out on Corbin Burnes.

The O's have a few holes that need to be filled and trading Mayo could be the answer.

#3 Find proper replacement for Anthony Santander

The Orioles have done a good job at bringing in veteran Tyler O'Neill into their outfield core. However, Anthony Santander was a monster for the club in 2024. There are still some impact outfielders remaining in free agency such as Teoscar Hernandez and even Anthony Santander himself that they could look to sign.

#4 Add depth bat

One of the areas Baltimore could look to address before the end of the offseason is its offensive depth. It may not need to splash the cash to add an impactful veteran like Josh Bell in free agency. However, that type of move could make the difference between winning and losing in the postseason.

#5 Add impact reliever

The Baltimore Orioles have some top-tier relievers in their bullpen in the shape of Yennier Cano and Felix Bautista, but there are some question marks in front of them. Veterans such as Tanner Scott, Paul Sewald and Tommy Kahnle could all help bolster the team's bullpen ahead of a potential postseason run.
