Former Washington Wizards and Warriors guard Gilbert Arenas made it to his son Alijah Arenas's game on Thursday. The 3-time NBA All-Star made an appearance at the "largest" High School Basketball Tournament in the country showing his support for his son.
In a story posted by ESPN Los Angeles, Gilbert Arenas was spotted sitting courtside with his entourage as he showed up on Day 1 of 'The Classic at Damien'. The largest high school tournament in the country, the tourney also featured Alijah's school Chatsworth.
Arenas was present for their fixture as he was photographed on the sidelines in ESPN's story alongside a short caption that read:
"0 in the building."

'Agent 0' as he is endearingly called stems from Arena's donning the number 0 in all his NBA jerseys during his 12-year stint in the NBA. This name became a staple of his during his time with the Washington Wizards donning their uniform for seven years between 2003-2010.
Coming out to support his son and his team Arena's presence however didn't serve as enough motivation for Alijah and his teammates to win. Chatsworth was defeated by a strong Inglewood team as the final score read 88-84 in favor of Inglewood.
The largest high school tournament in the country 'The Classic at Damien' features 128 teams and 256 games spread over 8 divisions. The Platinum division is the prize pool for this tournament as all the top-rated schools in the country are drawn within that bracket.
Chatsworth finds themselves in the gold division which is the second-best division in the tournament. Despite their loss against Inglewood Alijah's team will have another chance at their tourney as they get seeded in the losers bracket for Day 2 fixtures.
Alijah Arena's impressive performance against Inglewood
Alijah Arenas, a five-star recruit, showcased an impressive outing during his team's 4-point loss to Inglewood in Day 1 of the largest high school tournament in the country. Up against another five-star recruit in Jason Crowe Jr., the two young talents traded points during the match as they led their teams in scoring during the fixture.
Jason Crowe Jr. earned 55 points on the night including 21 free throws, scoring more than half of his team's 88 points. On the other hand, Alijah recorded 34 points agonizingly falling short of victory by 4 points.
The young star has been making waves at the high school level as he is currently ranked as a Top. 15 prospects in his class despite reclassifying from the 2026 batch to the 2025 one earlier this year.
Standing tall at 6'6, the guard is an exciting proposition and has been attracting offers from big teams across the country. Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, California, and Fresno State are a few of the options the young talent currently has as he will be looking to commit to the best outfit at the end of this season.
