Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper gave a major scare to the organization and the Citizens Bank Park faithful in Game 1 of their four-game series against the Miami Marlins on Thursday night. Philadelphia lost the game 7-4, but they are likely more concerned with Harper, who injured his left hamstring after making the final out of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Bryce Harper felt his hamstring a couple of times before limping off the field. This injury comes just as it was announced that he would be the National League's starting first baseman for the 2024 All-Star Game earlier in the day. Harper will undergo scans and imaging on his left hamstring on Friday.

Fans took notice of the incident and immediately voiced their concerns over Harper's injury. They took to X, formerly Twitter, to comment on the incident which, at first instance, didn't look good for the Phillies' star slugger.

"Damn… that didn’t look good," one fan commented.
"Oh that didn’t look good," another fan commented.
"Not like this man… not the final out of the game," yet another fan commented

Some other fans voiced their concern over Bryce Harper's situation pertaining to the All-Star Week. The game between the American League and National League All-Stars will be played on July 16, 2024 at the Globe Life Field. Some fans' comments were as follows:

"All Star jinx, Judge better watch out," one fan commented.
"right after he was gonna start in his first ASG as a phillie," another fan commented.
"He’s likely missing the All Star game since the manager said it’s his hamstring," yet another fan commented.

Bryce Harper's injury is the back end of an injury double whammy for the in-form Philadelphia Phillies. Before Harper, their DH Kyle Schwarber, who started in the left field for just the third time this season, left the game in the ninth inning complaining about left groin tightness. The organization will hope that it is nothing too serious for their star first baseman who has been excellent this season.

Bryce Harper has been leading the offensive charts for the Phillies this season

Bryce Harper has been leading the offensive charts for the Philadelphia Phillies so far this season. He leads the roster in batting average (.303), home runs (20), and OBP (.399). He has an OPS of .981 and sits second on the team in terms of RBI with 58 so far, seven behind Alex Bohm who has 65 RBIs.

Harper went 1 of 5 with one RBI in the loss to the Marlins. That one hit came in the first inning and was the 1,600th of his career.

Harper's health will be of utmost importance if the Phillies aspire for another run at the World Series this season.
