Team Netherlands took on Team Panama in both teams' second fixture of the World Baseball Classic (WBC). Fans were treated to a unique celebration from the Dutch side as they replicated footballer Cristiano Ronaldo's world-famous 'Sui' celebration after Jurickson Profar hit a solo home run.
Both Panama and the Netherlands are off to a brilliant start in their WBC campaign, having won their first game. The Netherlands triumphed over a strong Cuban team 4-2 whereas Panama had an emphatic 12-5 win against the home team Chinese Taipei. Something had to give in this encounter as both teams look to keep their unbeaten record alive.
Team Netherlands were first off the blocks, scoring their first run in the third. Jurickson Profar hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to extend their lead to 2-0. As he completed his run around the home plate he celebrated with the entire bench doing the 'Sui' celebration in unison.

Team Netherlands top favourites to win Pool A in Taiwan
With their strongest fixture completed on their first gameday against Cuba, Netherlands will be looking to continue their current form. They are up 3-1 against Panama at the top of the ninth inning at the time of writing. The Netherlands squad includes players from the home country and its constituent islands.
Barring any shocks in their final two games against Italy and the Chinese Taipei, the Dutch are surely on track to repeat their success from previous editions of the tournament where their best finish was reaching the semi-finals.
