The World Baseball Classic has been absolutely electric. The tournament wrapped up semifinal play on Monday with a classic between Samurai Japan and Team Mexico.

Trailing by three runs in the seventh inning, Masataka Yoshida stepped up when Samurai Japan needed it the most. With two men on and two outs, Yoshida went deep to tie the game. The home run gave Yoshida 13 RBIs, breaking the tournament record.

Team Mexico quickly grabbed the lead and had Japan's backs against the wall in the ninth inning. That was until Munetaka Murakami delivered a walk-off RBI double to give Japan the victory.

While the game was great, fans couldn't get over how well Masataka Yoshida was seeing the ball. He's one of the hottest hitters on the planet right now.

"I really hope he keeps this up when he rejoins the Red Sox. I have a feeling he's going to become one of my favorite players," one fan tweeeted.
"Going to thrive in Fenway. Good for him," another fan tweeted.

Boston Red Sox fans couldn't be happier with his performances in the tournament. Some fans weren't very familiar with his game before the signing and weren't sure if he'd be a good fit. They don't think that anymore.

Some fans are comparing him to Jose Altuve. Both players are on the shorter side but absolutely rake. They don't let their size get in the way of their power.

The World Baseball Classic is wonderful

The World Baseball Classic has lived up to the hype and then some. Many fans were worried that the number of MLB players de-committing would hurt the tournament, but that hasn't been the case. Fans have been treated to some entertaining baseball games.

Team USA had one of the most electric comeback victories in their game against Team Venezuela on Saturday. Down two runs in the eighth inning, Trea Turner hit a no-doubt grand slam. There wasn't a single player left on Team USA's bench after Turner's home run as his teammates swarmed him as he reached the dugout.

It's great that this tournament has been so successful. The tournament's success may push more MLB stars to try and participate in the next one.

The World Baseball Classic is the one baseball tournament that brings entire nations together. Its success means a lot to the game of baseball.
