It seems that nearly every offseason can be defined by a specific player, and this year is no different as Juan Soto is the clear, number one biggest name on the free-agent market.
The four-time All-Star is the most sought-after name right now on the open market, however, for teams hoping to secure his signature, they are going to need to pay up.
The 26-year-old outfielder will undoubtedly sign one of the richest contracts in MLB history. While there is no question that Juan Soto will secure a massive contract, fans and teams across MLB are wondering where, and more importantly, when he will sign.

This impatience sent the internet into a frenzy on Tuesday as the ultra-talented slugger posted a video which appeared to be an announcement regarding his playing future.
Even though it had all the appearance of an official announcement, it turned out that it was a commerical for the popular energy drink Celsius. But even though it was a commercial, it has fans thinking there is more behind it.
"Celsius was founded by the orioles owner," one fan posted on social media.
"Celsius is the measure of temperature used in Canada therefore Soto is a Blue Jay," another fan added.
"This feels real New Yorkish to me," one more fan posted online.
Like most things these days, fans began to speculate an alternative meaning behind the commercial. Some fans claimed that Celsius has a link to the Baltimore Orioles, while others point to the Toronto Blue Jays being the only team that uses Celsius as a method of measuring temperature.
Until he signs, this type of speculation will only continue. However, these types of videos might not win Juan Soto any fans in the process, as some feel that he is trolling for no reason.
"I just freaked out," a fan shared.
"I know he is good but... the vibes are just off. Don't feel like I'd want him on my team tbh," another fan shared online.
"I got so nervous watching this. Lol," one more added.
No matter what fans think of the commercial or the meaning behind the choice of colors, Juan Soto's free agency is not expected to come to an end any time soon. As the outfielder and his agent look to secure every last dollar, they will have no issue dragging it on as the price goes up.
MLB insider Bob Nightengale believes only 4 teams are realistic landing spots for Juan Soto
Until Juan Soto officially signs with a team, there will be much speculation and rumors about where he may land, and at this point, there is no way of knowing which way he may be leaning. That being said, MLB insider Bob Nightengale believes that only four teams should be viewed as destinations for Soto.
According to Nightengale, the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox are the most likely candidates to land Soto in free agency. Although the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies have been linked to the outfielder in rumors, Nightengale has all but ruled out both clubs.
