The New York Yankees announced that superstar pitcher Gerrit Cole will be activated from the IL and start on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles. The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner will make his season debut against the Yankees' divisional rivals, getting right into the heart of the action.

Cole has yet to appear for the New York Yankees this season after being placed on the IL with elbow inflammation and edema. The veteran pitcher was lucky to avoid a much more severe injury and will already make his return to the mound.

Now, with the pending return of Gerrit Cole, many Yankees fans believe that adding their ace back to the rotation is a sign of greater things to come.
